Daniel Kammen, the World Bank Group's first Clean Energy Czar, took sabbatical from UC Berkeley to join this organization of 14,000 employees in Washington, D.C. in order to develop its $8 billion Energy Strategy. During 2011, I had the opportunity of visiting the Energy Czar and contributing in a minor way to drafting the energy strategy, whose controversial aspects include a clause requesting no more investments in coal fired electricity and greenhouse analysis for all power generation projects.
