Arctic climate and environmental systems are deeply interconnected with global processes, meaning that rapid changes in the Arctic produce far-reaching consequences elsewhere. These effects may include shifts in tropical forests, weakened monsoon systems, and the degradation of coral reef ecosystems, with significant implications for human societies worldwide. Yet the links between Arctic environmental change and socioecological systems beyond the Arctic remain poorly understood. This project brings together researchers from across disciplines in two workshops to examine how transformations in the Arctic shape human well-being and environmental futures on a global scale.
